Unmoored | The Stories We Tell Ourselves

Landscape is the language, but it is not the subject. Using familiar imagery, the paintings occupy an uncertain space between observation and recollection. What remains is shaped by what we retain or reject from the places we have known.

Colour Portraits

Presented on a human scale, each portrait emerges through the accumulation of marks and decisions. The work is less concerned with likeness than with the presence that develops over time.

Fragments

2000-Present

Same Artist. Different Chapter.

Rust, deterioration and imperfection are not flaws to be concealed, but material worthy of attention. Over time, the works have been altered, moved, stored and carried forward. Torn edges, exposed canvas and traces of earlier decisions remain visible as evidence of that history.

What survives is fragmented, but no less valuable.
