Using land, distance and horizon as points of departure, these paintings consider what remains after choices are made and time has passed. Space becomes uncertain. Meaning is not fixed. Memory is unreliable.

The work is less concerned with place than with the marks left by experience and the questions that remain unresolved.

Presented on a human scale, each portrait emerges through the accumulation of marks and decisions. The work is less concerned with likeness than with the presence that develops over time.
